If you, like many others, missed out on the famous KZ-4, look no further. Kazan and red squirrel are not the same, but I'd say red squirrel is even silkier. Shape-wise, they are extremely similar: both have a round ferrule and the hair length is 35mm. Yes, this is more expensive, but like I said, the hair is exquisite and the construction and bundling of the brush is top notch and so far I haven't had any shedding.
As for performance, if you're familiar with the Z-4, you'll find they're very similar again in terms of product pick-up and blending because even though the red squirrel is softer, the brush is denser.
