Hakuhodo CEO thanked me for my purchases

 Hi Everyone,

Yesterday, I shared the 2025 new eyeshadows from ADDICTION.
Please take a look!

The other day, I received a call from a Hakuhodo shop manager.
She mentioned that the CEO of Hakuhodo wanted to thank me for my regular purchases.

I thought it was a kind gesture, and I expressed my gratitude.
She added that he wanted to gift me something.

I do buy quite a few brushes weekly for my clients, so I guess that’s how he came to recognize me.

While many fude lovers explore other brands besides Hakuhodo, I think Hakuhodo is a great place to start.

Kumano, Hiroshima, is home to many brush makers.
They originally specialized in calligraphy brushes, but many transitioned to makeup brushes over time.

As I’ve mentioned before, I was born and raised in Hiroshima.
Although Kumano was far from where I lived, I had a friend from there.

I attended high school in the city of Hiroshima, and one of my classmates was the son of a Kumano brush maker.
Coincidentally, we ended up at the same university in Tokyo, but we didn’t meet during our time there. Moving to a new place often brings new friendships.

And then came Facebook.
Someone invited me to join our high school page, and we reconnected.

He had worked for a bank in Tokyo and New York but now lives in Kumano, running a brush-making business.

Facebook is great for maintaining connections.
You might not meet certain people regularly, but it’s nice to stay updated on their lives.
Sometimes, these "weaker" connections are just as valuable in life.

I do have a Facebook page, but I assume most of you use Instagram these days.

Later,
I had a conversation with the Hakuhodo CEO.
I could tell he was from Hiroshima—we both speak the same dialect!
Very strong Hiroshima dialect.

Thank you for reading!
Toshiya
