One thing I really like about Tokyo is how easy it is to go out alone.
The cafe I often visit is full of people who have come alone.
During the day, you'll see many working on their computers. In the evening, many people come in to watch YouTube, Netflix, or Amazon Prime, or simply to read a book.
Having been raised in the countryside, it's such a luxury to be able to go out on a Saturday night and enjoy reading or watching a movie in a cafe.
There was no cafe in the area where I was raised.
There's about a 50/50 split between people who are alone and those in groups.
The other day, one lady who seemed to be 80 years old sat next to me, playing on her iPhone late at night.
I guess many people really need that time to be alone with their thoughts and entertainment.
